Miele Vacuums Wands and Hoses - US Vacuums

Miele Vacuums Wands and Hoses

There are generally two types of hoses. Electric and Non-Electric. If you are looking to purchase a new hose for your Miele vacuum, the best way to find out which hose you need is if you have a switch on the hose handle that turns on/off an electric powerhead attachment, you need an Electric Hose. Otherwise, if you do not use an electric powerhead with your Miele vacuum, a regular suction hose (non-electric) is what you need. You must make sure to order a hose that would fit your specific Miele vacuum model. Turn the vacuum over and you should see a silver sticker with a model number that starts with the letter S. Use that number to make sure you purchase the correct hose.

Henry Hoover: A UK-Built Canister Vacuum With a Familiar Face

Numatic International started building Henry in 1981, and the UK factory still makes every unit today, one of the few vacuum brands that never moved production overseas. The rounded body and painted-on smile are a design choice that has stuck for more than four decades, which is why the shape gets recognized in the US even by shoppers who have never owned one.

Every Henry model on this page is a canister vacuum with a sealed dust bag, not a bagless cyclone bin. Dust and allergens stay closed inside the bag until you throw it out, instead of getting stirred up while you empty a bin. See how it compares with our full lineup of bagged canister vacuums from Miele and SEBO before you settle on a model.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HENRY AND HETTY COMES DOWN TO FILTRATION, NOT JUST COLOR

All seven models share the same canister body, hose and cord-rewind base. What changes from one to the next is size, motor tuning, and on one model, the filter.

NUMATIC HENRY HVR200

$529.00

The standard, full-size Henry body, the one most people picture when they hear the name and the base the rest of the lineup is built from.

NUMATIC HENRY COMPACT HVR160

$529.00

The same canister design in a smaller body, easier to carry up stairs or fit in a hall closet than the full-size HVR200.

NUMATIC HENRY COMPACT XTRA HVX160

$529.00

The compact body paired with Numatic’s Xtra motor tune, built with carpet and pet hair pickup in mind rather than bare floors alone.

NUMATIC HENRY COMPACT XTRA HVX200

$549.00

The full-size version of the Xtra motor tune, for homes with more carpet to cover between bag changes.

NUMATIC HENRY ALLERGY HVA160

$559.00

The one model in the lineup built around filtration first, meant for households managing dust or pet allergies rather than chasing raw suction.

NUMATIC HETTY COMPACT HET160

$529.00

Henry’s compact body under a different face and color, priced the same as the HVR160 it’s built on.

NUMATIC HETTY HET200

$539.00

The full-size Hetty, mechanically close to the HVR200 with its own styling rather than Henry’s face.

Frequently Asked Questions About Henry Vacuums

Why haven't I seen Henry vacuums sold in the US before?

Henry is built in the UK and, until recently, was mostly available here through small importers reselling UK stock. US Vacuums carries genuine Numatic Henry units as part of its regular lineup alongside Miele and SEBO, so you're ordering from an authorized dealer rather than a reseller.

Do Henry vacuums use bags, and where do I get replacements?

Every model on this page runs on a sealed paper dust bag, not a bagless bin. When you need refills or a new filter, our Numatic Henry replacement bags and filters page carries the parts sized for each model.

Will a Henry canister vacuum hold up if I'm running it daily?

Numatic builds a commercial-grade version of the same motor and body for cleaning contractors and hotels, and the residential Henry line uses that same core design rather than a version stripped down just for home use.

I have pets and want strong filtration. Is there one Henry that covers both?

Not quite. The Xtra models (HVX160 and HVX200) are tuned for carpet and pet hair pickup, while the Allergy model (HVA160) is built around filtration. If both matter to you, filtration is the harder problem to add later, so most households in that spot start with the Allergy model and add a pet-specific tool rather than the other way around.

Can I use a Henry canister vacuum on stairs, or is it built for flat floors only?

Yes. Henry's canister body stays on the floor while the hose and wand reach the stairs, so you're not carrying the full unit step by step the way you would with an upright. The tradeoff is managing a hose length instead of a single wand, which takes most people a try or two to get used to.
